Elephone P9000 Review: Display and UI

A clear display as promised by Elephone P9000 is what you will experience exactly. You get a real bright display here and no viewing angle issues whatsoever.
Using the Android stock UI, you immediately get to at home is using the P9000 plus you also get very little bloatware pre-installed. Elephone has stuffed Flashlight, a browser, Pedometer app, and Elephone service app. Other than that, you just get the usual Google apps which make more room in the 32G internal storage.
Elephone P9000 Review: Performance
The 2.0 GHz 64 Bit Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core processor which is paired with a $G RAM and a Mali T860 GPU performs really well. No lags were observed during the review. I don’t recall having to shut down apps just to release some memory during the usage.
Antutu Benchmark gave Elephone P9000 a score of 44,075 which is below Asus Zenfone 2 (56,746) and Meizu MX5 (53,810).
Camera
Aside from the performance, I expected a lot in the camera of the Elephone P9000, but I am unhappy to report that OPPO F1 camera is far, far better than the 13MP camera of the P9000. Elephone has to improve the camera software otherwise, you’ll get reclusive photos.
The photo above was taken in a controlled environment. A really excellent ambient lighting was available when I took that shot.

This image above looks ok to me, but it could have been better given the price tag of this device.

This outdoor shot is sharp and detailed but the colors are uninspiring so to speak.
Enough of the camera report and I apologize if I did not include the front-camera samples because it has the same results. I’m unhappy with it.

Battery
The non-removable battery with 3,000mAH can last you a day with mobile data turned-on once in a while. On a WiFi network, it can stand up to 12 hours. The commercial version of this device comes with a wireless charger, unfortunately, it was not provided with this review unit.
Conclusion
Overall, the Elephone P9000 is a great smartphone I must say — from the build and construction up to the timely features such as fingerprint scanners, huge RAM, and storage.
However, for a person like me who is a camera consumer, I want my smartphone to be equipped with a decent camera even if it is a little bit slow in terms of shutter and focus. Optical Image Stabilization might be absent because I can be patient and take time in capturing images. The P9000 fingerprint scanner need improvement as well, it returns too many inconsistency that you just want it disabled most of the time.

Oh they removed the customizable button feature?
