After Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 (in some markets) received their October 2017 update, of course, the most affordable model of Nokia Android phone series won’t be left behind for the security update, the Nokia 3.
Members of forums and user reports via nokiamob.net confirmed that Nokia 3 owners are starting to recieve the October 2017 monthly security update, as part of HMD’s promise of timely updates to all of Nokia Android phones line up.
The 400MB update includes the October 2017 Google Security Patch update, few some user interface (UI) updates on Google search bar which transformed the rectangular shape to a rounded shape and improved system stability. Unfortunately, this is not updates Nokia 3 to Android 7.1.2.

If you’re a Nokia 3 user and wishes to update your phone, go ahead to Settings app > About Phone > System update.
Take note also that this update will not be rolled out one at a time to all phones. Some devices will recieve the update delayed than expected depending on device location, or maybe on the server.
