The PLDT Group, Smart and Uber has forged a partnership to offer urban mobility in Manila.
A first in the region according to Mike Brown, Uber Regional Manager.
Attended by the big bosses of the PLDT Group, Smart Communications and Uber, riders in Metro Manila who employ the cashless ride-sharing app will enjoy FREE Wi-Fi while onboard Uber car.
No less Manny V. Pangilinan was present during the launch, including top executives of the PDLT group and Smart. Uber regional chief Mike Brown and his local team headed by Laurence Cua, Uber PH General Manager were in full support of the partnership.
Celebrity Anne Curtis, a smart brand endorser also graced the event.
The strategic partnership between two giants is a first of a kind in Southeast Asia to provide connectivity and benefits to the growing riders of ride-sharing app Uber.
In this partnership, Smart will provide free in-car high-speed WiFi for Uber riders. Smart will also offer voice and data packages, bundles and add-ons for Uber driver partners. There will be special promotions and experiences exclusive for Smart subscribers.

Starting today, Uber riders will be able to enjoy free in-car WiFi. The service is initially available in select Uber Black vehicles and will be available in all Uber vehicles in the coming months.
Throughout the partnership, Uber riders on Smar’s network will be able to avail of special promo, discounts and on-demand experiences.
For Uber partner drivers
Exclusive Prepaid and Postpaid Packages will be available to Uber partner drivers. There is also exclusive phone offers for drivers and their family members. This exclusive offer can be availed by the Uber partner drivers through the Uber online stored using the Tack This! eCommerce website from Voyager Innovations. Uber partner drivers can access the shop once they are accredited by Uber.
